The Geosat5 is now setup and ready to interface with the Kenwood.
G4T Setup
Turn your G4T ON and press the MENU key twice.
Select the Interface tab and press +
Select "Interface" and press +
Use the joystick to select APRS and press +
Use the joystick to select Baud Rate and pres +
Use the joystick to select the proper baud rate, 9600 for Kenwood, and press +
Press Esc twice
The G4T is now setup and ready to interface with the Kenwood.
Kenwood D710 Radio Setup
Prior to starting this procedure, verify that the Avmap is on and has achieved a position
fix.
Turn the D710 ON.
Use the volume button or the PF2 key to put CTRL on the side (A or B) of the
radio that you want to use for APRS.
Press the VFO button and use the tuning knob to adjust the frequency to
144.39MHz. Verify that neither the +, -, T, CT, or DCS icons are displayed.
Press the "F" key, then press the MHz knob to access the Setup Menu.
Turn the MHz knob to select APRS.
Press the MHz Button to select the next menu.
Use the MHz pushbutton and tuning knob, and the BACK button, as necessary to make
the following menus settings. Many are the default and will not need to be changed:

AUX – TIME Menu 525
TIME:
AUX – TIME ZONE Menu 526
TIME ZONE:

Set today's date.
Set the current local time.
Set your local time zone offset.
