- Page 6 MAINTENANCE OF THE BLADE Always apply oil to the blades before use. This will ensure maximum cutting performance. With the clipper switched on, away from your body in a downward position, apply oil onto the top of the blade. Turn clipper off and wipe off excess oil with a soft dry cloth.
