Changing the bottom blade and the top blade
1. Switch off the clipper using the on/off switch (Fig. 1b).
2. Disconnect the clipper from the mains power supply.
3. Undo both screws on the blade set; remove the bottom blade and the top blade(Fig. 8).
4. Attention: The adjustment lever (B) must not be locked. It will be unlocked by moving the locking
switch E upward (Fig. 3a).
5. Place the top blade on the drive pin.
6. Before assembly, the bottom blade and the top blade should be oiled (Fig. 6).
7. Position the bottom blade and reinsert both screws.
8. When assembling, the bottom blade and the top blade should be aligned as follows (Fig. 7). The top
blade must be parallel with the bottom blade with a gap of 0.5 – 1mm before tightening the screws.

9. This gap should also be maintained when screwing the bottom blade back into place after thorough
cleaning; failure to do so could result in injury.
10. Tighten both screws (Fig. 8).
Maintenance
Always remove the attachment comb after every use. Use the cleaning brush to remove any
cut hairs from the clipper and from the blade set.
Spray the blade set with hygienic spray to flush any dirt and hairs through the blade.
Wipe away excess fluid then oil the blade set with clipper oil.
Only wipe the clipper with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
: For high performance, long lasting cutting performance, it is important to oil the blade set

frequently, at least before and after every use.
If the cutting performance deteriorates after long use despite regular cleaning and oiling, the blade set
should be replaced.
WIRING
WARNING: If the supply cord is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturers service agent or a
similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance to the following code:
Blue Neutral (N)
This appliance is fitted with a 3 pin plug which has a 3 amp fuse fitted.
If the plug supplied is not suitable for your socket or becomes damaged, it should be cut off and disposed
of, and a suitable plug fitted as detailed below.
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the colour
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows.
The wire which is coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the
letter 'N' or coloured BLACK or BLUE.
The wire which is coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked with
the letter 'L' or coloured RED or BROWN.
DO NOT connect either wire to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter 'E' or has the Earth
symbol, or coloured GREEN or GREEN/YELLOW.
If a 13 amp (BS 1363) plug is used, a 3 amp fuse must be fitted. If any other type of plug is used a 5 amp
fuse must be fitted either in the plug or adaptor at the distribution board. Replacement fuses should be
approved to BS 1362
Fuse cover must be refitted when changing the fuse. If the fuse cover is lost the plug must not be used
until a replacement is obtained. Information for obtaining the correct fuse is marked on the carrier itself
and in the bottom of the fuse cavity in the plug. These may be obtained from Wahl (UK) Ltd.
