Teach-in errors

Teach-in or operating errors during the teach-in process are indicated by fault codes in the display. These fault
codes are not stored.

GS 06-GS 18/
Learning error
GS 27/GS 29/
GS 32
GS 19
Vehicle rolling.
GS 20
The display shows
GS 21
The clutch pedal was released too early
or too late during the teach-in process.
GS 22
The neutral button was released during
the teach-in process.
GS 23
Learning error
GS 24
Parking brake not applied during the
teach-in process.
GS 26
Engine running.
GS 28
Engine not started.
GS 30
The accelerator pedal was operated
during the teach-in process.

Guidelines for Breakdown Services (Subject to technical modifications)
Remedy
Repeat teach-in process.
If this fault code reappears after the teach-in
process, have the fault rectified at a qualified
specialist workshop possessing the required
expertise and tools in order to perform the
necessary work. Mercedes-Benz recommends
a Mercedes-Benz service center for this work.
Apply parking brake.
Charge or replace the battery.
Depress the clutch pedal at the right time (lis-
ten for the warning buzzer).
Press and hold down neutral button.
Perform major teach-in process.
Apply parking brake.
Minor teach-in process: Switch off the engine.
Major teach-in process: Do not start the engine
until the transmission neutral position flashes.
Start the engine when the transmission neutral
position flashes.
Do not depress the accelerator pedal during
the teach-in process.
