     When used on mats, carpeted floors or loose floor coverings, the floor covering can get damaged.  Use only Vermeiren approved accessories.  The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by the lack of or improper service or as a result of not following instructions from this manual.

    Jazz S50 2019-04 Using your wheelchair This chapter describes the everyday use. These instructions are for the user and the specialist dealer. The wheelchair is delivered fully assembled by your specialist dealer. The instructions intended for the specialist dealer on how to set up the wheelchair are given in §4.

    Jazz S50 2019-04 3.4 Mounting or removing of the footrests Risk of injury CAUTION  Check that the footrests are securely locked in place before use.  Keep objects away from the footrests swing range while mounting or removing the footrests.

    Jazz S50 2019-04 1. If available on the wheelchair, wear the safety belt. 2. Do not attempt moving on too high slopes. The maximum slope angles (upwards and downwards) are mentioned in §6. 3. Ask an attendant to help you moving on the slope.

    Jazz S50 2019-04 Higher curbs are negotiated backwards: 1. Turn the wheelchair to have the rear wheels facing the curb. 2. Lean backwards and move your centre of gravity above the rear wheels. 3. Ask the attendant to pull the wheelchair on the curb.

    Jazz S50 2019-04 3.13 Use of the wheelchair as seat in a motor vehicle WARNING  The wheelchair has passed the crash of ISO 7176-19: 2008 and, as such, has been designed and tested for use only as forward-facing seat in a motor vehicle.

Attach the occupant restraint belts according to the instructions of the strap- system manufacturer. 4.     Installation and adjustment The instructions in this chapter are for the specialist dealer. The Vermeiren Jazz S50 has been designed as wheelchair with a minimum of adjustments. There is no need for extra stock of spare parts. To find a service facility or specialist dealer near you, contact the nearest Vermeiren facility.

    Jazz S50 2019-04 4.4 Adjust the brakes Risk of injury – Brakes may only be adjusted by your specialist dealer. WARNING Adjust the brakes according to the following rules: 1. Install the wheels according to § 3.2. 2. Disconnect the brakes by pulling lever (1) backwards (Fig A).
  • Page 18 Jazz S50 2019-04 If you want to change the tyres or inner tubes, you should note the following: 1. Let all the air out of the inner tube. 2. Insert a tyre lever between the tyre and the rim. 3. Slowly and gently push the tyre lever downwards. This will pull the tyre over the edge of the rim.

    CAUTION Repairs and replacements may only be undertaken by trained persons and only genuine replacement parts of Vermeiren should be used. The service frequency depends on the frequency and intensity of use. Contact your dealer to agree to a common timetable for inspection/maintenance/repair.

    Jazz S50 2019-04 5.2.2 Cleaning Risk of damage by moisture CAUTION  Never use a hose or high-pressure cleaner to clean the wheelchair. Wipe all rigid parts of the wheelchair with a damp cloth (not drenched). If necessary, use a mild soap, suitable for varnishes and synthetics.
