Safety
•
The displayed voltage is the nominal value.
•
The voltage tester should only be used in the manner and
under the conditions described in this instruction manual.
•
Never dismantle the voltage tester.
•
While measuring, the voltage tester should be held as
shown; never touch the metal tips of the test probes.
•
Repairs should only be carried out by a qualified tradesman.
•
The voltage tester must not be connected to a voltage
source for more than 30 seconds at a time. After subjecting
the tester to max load it must be allowed to rest for
240 seconds.
Warning, potential danger. Follow the instructions in this
instruction manual.

This voltage tester complies with the following standards
and directives:
-
EMC Directive (2004/108/EC)
-
EN 61000–6-3:2007 and EN 61000–6-1:2007
-
Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC
-
EN 61010–1 and EN 61243–3
This voltage tester complies with the following standard:
(2002/96/EEC) WEEE.
The instruction manual contains information necessary for
the safe operation of the instrument.
Make sure that you have read and understand the entire
manual before using the instrument. Failure to read
the instruction manual prior to use can result in serious
bodily injury or instrument damage.
All appropriate safety measures and statutory regulations
must be followed when using the voltage tester.
In order to avoid electric shock, the valid safety and
VDE regulations regarding excessive contact voltages
must receive utmost attention when working with
voltages exceeding 120 V (60 V) DC or 50 V (25 V) rms AC.
The values in brackets apply to special ranges such as
medicine and agriculture.
The voltage tester must only be used within specified
measuring ranges and with low voltage systems up to 690 V.
Measurements performed in dangerous proximity to other
electrical systems must only be performed in consultation
with and under the guidance of a qualified electrician.
Such measurements must never be performed alone.
The voltage tester must not be used if it is in any way
damaged or malfunctioning.
The voltage tester must only be used in dry environments.
Correct readings can only be guaranteed within
the temperature and humidity ranges specified in
the Specifications section below.
When using the instrument, only the handles of the test
probes may be touched. Never touch the tips of the test
probes.
Prior to usage, ensure perfect instrument function (e.g. on
a known voltage source).
The safety of the voltage tester can no longer be ensured if
the instrument:
-
Is damaged in any way.
-
Does not display reliable results.
-
Has been stored for too long under unfavourable
conditions.
-
Has been subjected to mechanical stress during
transport or rough treatment.
Note: The voltage tester provides approximate, not exact
measurements. The LED indicator already begins to shine at
85 % of the respective nominal value.
