Intended Use

Hand-held mains-powered compact plunge circular saw with track. Intended for straight
sawing and cutting a wide range of materials with the correct type of blade fitted. Capable of
creating pocket/plunge cuts with improved safety over conventional circular saws.

Unpacking Your Tool

Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Familiarise yourself with all its features and functions.
Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any parts are missing or
damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool.

Before Use

WARNING: Always disconnect from the power supply before carrying out any
assembly, maintenance or cleaning.
Dust extraction
• For a cleaner, safer work environment, and to protect the tool from dust and over-heating,
connect a dust extraction system or workshop vacuum cleaner to the Dust Extraction Port
(1) and ensure the Motor Vents (21) are kept free of wood chippings and dust. Regularly
clean the area of the tool with a vacuum where a dust extraction system cannot be fitted
or used
IMPORTANT: When cutting conductive metal it is important the fine dust does not enter the
internal parts of the tool through the Motor Vents. Such dust can cause a safety issue as well
as destroy the tool.
Note: One blade is pre-fitted; make sure the Blade Securing Bolt (4) is securely tightened
before first use
Removing and fitting blades
The tool is supplied with 4 blades;
• Blade (3) – Coarse wood blade suitable for fast coarse cutting of wood and light density
composite materials (pre-fitted to saw)
• Blade 40T (31) – Fine wood blade for smooth clean cuts in wood and normal use in very
light density woods and composite materials
• Diamond Disc (32) – Suitable for dry tile cutting
• Cutting Disc (33) – Suitable for cutting steel plating and other metals. This disc is a
bonded, reinforced wheel. Please see 'Additional safety for super abrasives' for important
information about using such discs
WARNING: Always check for an expiry date on the cutting disc (33) before use
(remove from tool if necessary). This will be either printed on the label or stamped on
the inner steel ring of the disc. DO NOT use an expired disc as it may shatter in use.
WARNING: Wear cut-proof gloves when handling sharp blades.
WARNING: Only fit blades of the same diameter and bore stated in the specification.
WARNING: The speed rating of the blade must match or exceed the no load speed of the tool
stated in the specification.
WARNING: The Cutting Disc (33) becomes very hot during operation. DO NOT touch it until it
has cooled down.
IMPORTANT: If the cutting disc is supplied with blotters they must be fitted and used
correctly. Not fitting blotters may cause the disc to shatter in use and be a safety risk
• Always check the blade being fitted is suitable for the material being cut
• Only fit blades that are in perfect condition. Blunt, bent, and cracked blades should be
discarded
1. Press in the Spindle Lock Button (Image C). Unscrew the Blade Securing Bolt (4) anti-
clockwise using the Hex Key (29)
2. Remove the Blade Securing Bolt, Blade Washer (5) and Blade Flange (6).
