General notice on use in hazardous areas according to ATEX
Requirements for the cabinet/enclosure
When used in hazardous environments corresponding to Class I, Division 2 or Class I,
Zone 2, the device must be installed in a cabinet or a suitable enclosure.
Requirements for the cabinet/enclosure
The modules must be installed in a suitable enclosure with at least degree of protection
IP54 according to EN 60529. The environmental conditions under which the equipment will
be used must be taken into account.
Protection against transient voltage surges
Take measures to prevent transient voltage surges of more than 40 % of the rated voltage.
This is the case if you only operate devices with SELV (safety extra-low voltage).
Suitable cables for high temperatures
If the temperature exceeds 70 °C at the entry point of the cable or the cable channel under
conditions specified by the approval, or 80 °C where the conductors branch, the
temperature specification of the selected cable must correspond to the actual measured
temperature.
