– Avoid direct water contact (spray or rain), dust and direct sunlight with the
main unit.
– Electrical components do not belong into the hands of children.
– All persons using, handling, installing, servicing and maintaining this device
must be trained and qualified for handling and repairing this device and
follow this user guide!
– When used in commercial facilities, the safety regulations of the professional
trade association for electrical installations and equipment must be followed.
– The use in schools, training centres, hobby-self-help workshops and the ope-
ration of components is to be supervised by trained personnel.
– Only original spare parts may be used, if the device is in need of repair. The
use of other components can be hazardous and can cause damage.
Sensor assembly
Mount the water level sensors at the points that you want to monitor. Plug the RJ
45 connector into the appropriate input socket of the unit. The sensor responds
to water contact at the two metal contacts. The sensor circuit is then closed.
The mounting height of the sensor defines the response point when the functions
of the main unit are activated. The sensor cable can be extended up to 20 m
with a double wire.
Note: Install all cables securely, so that they do not become a hazard and that
they cannot be tripped over.
Getting started/Function test
After installation of the water detector WPS 3000plus, a functional test should
be performed. The main unit should be plugged into a grounded socket (220
to 240 V/AC), mounted according to the VDE regulations. The "Power" LED will
become green, indicating that the unit is in operation. Set the slide switch e.g.
to "refill". Then check the operation of the sensors and the circuitry without a
connected pump. A lamp is recommended to check if the circuitry is working.
Filling a container (mode „Nachfüllen/refill")
– To test the circuitry it is easiest to fill a small container or a shallow bowl of
water, and to insert the sensor 1 (Sensor min) into it. Immediately the LED
"Sensor MIN" will light up on the control unit. Then dip the second sensor

WATER LEVEL SWITCH
(Sensor Max) into the water at the same time. Immediately the LED "Sensor
Max" will light up, the relay will disconnect and the LED "Rel. EIN" should
switch off. Maximum water level has been reached, the container is filled.
– To simulate the lowering of the water level, you take Sensor 2 (Sensor Max)
out of the water. The relay remains open, the LED "relay on" switches off
and the yellow LED "Sensor MIN" continues to shine, as sensor 1 still has
water contact. If sensor 1 is now also taken out of the water, then the relay
will switch again. This means that if a pump is attached it will be filling the
container with water.
– The relay will stay switched until the water level at sensor 2 is reached. If
water is extracted and the water level reaches sensor 1, then the unit will
switch on the pump again.
– Please do not use a pump when making dry tests, as the dry running pump
can easily damage itself.
Function mode „Entleeren" (empty)
To reach this mode, set the slide switch to „Entleeren" (empty) The relay is
switched off, the yellow LED "relay on" is off. Then dip the contacts of Sensor
MIN into the water. The LED "Sensor MIN" will light up. Then dip the Sensor
Max into the water. The relay will switch on, and the LED "relay on" will light up
(water will be pumped) additionally the LED "Sensor Max" will light up.
To simulate a reducing water level take the Sensor Max out of the water. The
LED "Sensor Max" will switch off, the LED "relay on" and the LED "Sensor MIN"
will continue to shine.
Now take out Sensor MIN, indicating that the water level is below Sensor
MIN. The pump will be switched off. The LEDs "relay on" and "Sensor MIN"
are both switched off.
Error message
To check the error message/automatic switch off, set the slide switch to "refill".
Now dip the Sensor Max into the water. The red "error" LED will light up in the re-
lay will switch off. Then set the slide switch to "Entleeren" (empty). Dip the Sensor
Max into the water. The red "error" LED will light up and the relay will switch.
An incorrect mounting of the sensors can lead to an error message. If either of
the sensors are in switched positions or if one of the sensors is defect, an error
message will be displayed.
