To set the rabbeting width , loosen the Screw (part #13) and slide the Rabbeting
Bracket (part #65) to the left or right along the Rabbeting Width Guide (part #66)
to locate the desired width. Then, retighten the Screw. NOTE: Make sure the
Washer (part #11) is installed between the bottom of the Rabbeting Bracket and
the top of the Rabbeting Width Guide to keep the Rabbeting Bracket from slip-
ping. (See Figure B and Assy. Diagram.)
To Make A Cut:
1.
Always use clamps, a vise, or other safe, practical ways to hold and support the
workpiece.
2.
While standing next to the workpiece, hold the Planer firmly with both hands.
3.
Place the Front Support (part #31) of the Planer on the workpiece, and squeeze
the Start Switch (part #57) to start the tool. (See Figure D.)
4.
While placing pressure on the Front Support (part #31) to control the depth of the
cut, and while placing pressure on the Rabbeting Width Guide (part #66) against
the workpiece to control the width of the cut, feed the Planer forward slowly until
the Rear Support (part #30) contacts the workpiece. Then, transfer pressure to
the Rear Support, and continue planing slowly to the end of the cut. Do not pull
the Planer back over the surface already cut.
5.
If necessary, repeat Step #4 above, using progressively deeper cuts until you
near the desired depth. Then, readjust the Rabbeting Depth Guide (part #52) to
make a light cut for the final pass. (See Figure C.)
