4. Safety rules

Important information on safety and proper use
• To avoid overheating and the danger of fire, the heater must not be covered.
• Connect the heater only to a mains supply that corresponds to that indicated on its label.
• This appliance is intended for domestic use only.
• Remember to turn the power switch to 0 and unplug the appliance when the appliance is not in use
or is to be moved or cleaned.
• This appliance is intended for use as auxiliary heating and should not be used unattended.
• During use, the appliance must not be placed directly under or facing a power outlet.
• The power cable must always lie freely and must not be exposed to anything that may damage it or
oveheat it. Make sure that it is not placed where it might be trodden on.
• The appliance must not be used if its cable is damaged or if it has been dropped or similarly
treated.
• If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or by authorised service
personnel.
• Avoid using extension cables as this may lead to overheating and even fire.
• Make sure that foreign objects do not obstruct the air inlet or outlet. This may lead to fire, electric
shock or damage to the heater.
• Do not use the heater in rooms where explosive gasses are present, or where flammable glue or
solvents are being used.
• Make sure there is a safe distance to furniture and other objects. 100 cm free space around and
above the heater is recommended. Make especially sure of
materials.
• Take special care when children or pets are near the heater, and do not leave it switched on without
a responsible adult present.
• The heater must not be used outdoors.
• Do not use the heater in bathrooms, wetrooms or similar places.
• The heater is warm when it is working normally. Avoid contact with bare skin and use the handle
when moving it. Make sure the plug and lead are not strained when moving the heater.
• Be aware that this appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Do not use this heater with an electric timer that switches on automatically. It is intended for use
under supervision, not as permanent heating.
• The first time the heater is taken into use, a mild odour may be experienced. This is harmless and
usually only occurs the first time the heater is warmed up.
• It is important to ensure that the heater's air intake and outlet are not obstructed or are positioned
too close to curtains or furniture. Objects placed too close to the heater may be damaged.
• Make sure that sharp objects do not come into contact with the heating element as this may
permanently damage the appliance.
