Replace a Power Supply on a PA-850 Firewall

The PA-850 firewall has two power supplies for power redundancy. If one power supply fails, you can
replace it without interruption as described in the following procedure.
To avoid injury to yourself or damage to your Palo Alto Networks
resides on the hardware, read the
STEP 1 |
Identify the failed power supply by viewing the power supply LEDs on the back of the firewall;
the LED on the failed power supply will be off.
STEP 2 |
Remove the Velcro strap that secures the AC power cord to the power supply and remove the
power cord.
STEP 3 |
Grasp the handle on the failed power supply while simultaneously pushing down on the release
lever and then pull the power supply outward to remove it.
STEP 4 |
Remove the replacement power supply from the packaging and slide it into the empty power
supply slot. Push the power supply all the way in until the release lever clicks into place.
STEP 5 |
Connect one end of the AC power cable to the power supply and connect the other end to a
grounded AC power source. Secure the power cord to the power supply with the Velcro strap.
