Startup

Unpacking
Remove the appliance, all accessory
parts and the user manual from the
box.
Remove all packaging materials and
protective foils from the product and
the accessories before using it for the
first time.
NOTE
Do not remove the rating plate or
any warning signs on the appliance.
Keep the original packaging during
the warranty or guarantee period in
order to return the appliance in the
packaging in the event of a warranty
or guarantee claim. Transport dam-
age will invalidate the warranty or
guarantee.
Checking the delivery contents
Check for visible signs of damage or miss-
ing items.
Report incomplete or damaged contents to
your supplier immediately.
NOTE
The grill plate (3) has a ceramic
non-stick coating. It prevents food
from sticking. It is also resistant to
scratching, high temperatures, can
be cleaned easily and is environ-
ment friendly.

Before using for the first time
Clean the appliance as described
in the section Cleaning and care
(page 21).
Put the heating element into the drip
tray (image A1).
Put the grill plate (3) or the grill grate
(1) onto the drip tray (images B1, B2).
The grill plate must be hung into the 4
holes in the der drip tray (image B3).
The underneath of the grill plate fits
on to the heating element.
Insert the plug into the mains socket.
The indicator lamp (5) lights up.
Set the maximum temperature with
the thermostat (4).The appliance
heats up.After reaching the set tem-
perature, the control indicator extin-
guishes (5).
NOTE
When using for the first time, it is
possible that production-related
additives such as grease could
cause slight odour or smoke. This is
completely normal. Ensure sufficient
ventilation.
Turn the thermostat (4) anticlockwise
until it stops.
Pull the plug out of the mains socket.
Allow the appliance to cool down com-
pletely.
Clean the appliance as described
in the section Cleaning and care
(page 21).
