The sensor for the
ambient tempe-
rature has not yet
adapted to a tem-
perature change.
A greater measu-
ring range results
at an increasing
distance on account
of the infrared sen-
sor's beam spread.

Remedy
Wait until the mea-
surement value of
the air temperature
has stabilised.
Reduce the distance
of the sensor to the
object.
Switch off the mea-
suring device. If this
is not possible, re-
move the batteries
and reinsert them.
