M any broadcasts now include an onscreen display of dialog called C losed C aptions. S om e broad-
casts m ay also include displays of additional inform ation in text form . Your television can access and
display this inform ation using the C losed C aption feature. To activate the C losed C aption feature,
follow the steps below .

To select C AP T IO N (for C losed C aptions), T E X T (for text display), or O F F (for no display)

To select a caption (C C 1 to C C 4) or text channel (T 1 to T 4)
To accept that selection and m ove to F IN IS H
To save settings and exit

• C losed C aption subtitles are usually found on closed caption channel C C 1. S om e program s m ay
include additional text inform ation which is usually found on text channel T 1. T he other channels
are available for future use.
• C losed captioning m ay not work correctly if the signal being received is weak or if you are playing
a video tape.
• M ost broadcasts containing C losed C aptioning will display a notice at the start of the program .
