Safety information
− Avoid creating sparks when connecting and removing the
charger:
– Avoid an electrical short-circuit when connecting the
charger to the battery. Only connect the negative terminal
connection lead (black) to the negative terminal of the
battery. Only connect the positive terminal connection lead
(red) to the positive terminal of the battery.
– Connect the power cord away from the battery and the
petrol line.
– After charging, disconnect the device from the mains power
supply fi rst. Do not remove the connection clamps from the
battery until you have done so.

Handling rechargeable batteries

WARNING!
Chemical burns hazard!
Battery acid is highly corrosive.
− Use acid-proof safety gloves, clothing and eye protection.
− Do not turn batteries over because acid can leak out of the
degassing vents.
− If a cell is leaking, the fl uid must not come into contact with skin
or eyes.
If you nevertheless come into contact with the fl uid, the area
affected must be rinsed with plenty of water. Immediately seek
medical attention.
