3. Safety and application notes

IEC 60417-6182:
Installation,
electrotechnical expertise
Before use, the DEHNrecord DRC LC M1+ reader and the components included in delivery are to be in-

spected for signs of damage. In case of damage, the reader and accessories must not be used.
The device may only be used under the conditions shown and referred to in these operating instructions.
Â
Modification of or tampering with the reader as well as adding or removing components not intended
Â
for this purpose is not permitted, threatens occupational safety and voids the warranty.
The reader may only be used by suitably trained electricians in line with the relevant safety regulations.
Â
If it must be assumed that safe operation of the device can no longer be ensured, it must be withdrawn
Â
from service and secured against being switched on accidentally.
Safe operation is no longer ensured if
Â
• the device shows signs of damage
• electrolyte has leaked
• the device does not work any more
• fluids have penetrated the device
• the device has been inadequately stored and used
• the device has been roughly handled during transport
High-energy electromagnetic fields with frequencies of about 125 Hz around the external antenna may

negatively affect the DEHNrecord DRC LC M1+ reader.
