    Figure 6.1 – Workswell WIRIS SECURITY connected to a standard FPV monitor (monitor not included) Workswell WIRIS SECURITY is designed in a way which allows control of all of its func ons during the flight. The system has digital inputs, which are fully compa ble with standard RC receivers that support S.BUS. Two channels serve as naviga on bu ons in the menu, the rest are shortcuts for the selected func ons (image capturing, video recording, pale e switching, zoom and others).

    The Workswell WIRIS system is equipped with a standard HDMI micro video output. It can be connected to any wireless video link or a display with HDMI input that supports WIRIS SECURITY resolu on. The default WIRIS SECURITY resolu on 1280x720 (also called HD or 720p). It is recommended to use a display with 16:9 aspect ra o.

    Warning: Do NOT connect WIRIS SECURITY to any other powered device (such as PC) through the full size USB port on the rear of WIRIS SECURITY. As the rear USB port is powered, connec on to another powered USB port can lead to permanent damage to either device. Only unpowered devices (USB Keyboards and USB Flash Storage drives) are to be connected into the rear USB A port of WIRIS SECURITY.

    Warning: Do NOT connect WIRIS SECURITY to any other powered device (such as PC) through the full size USB port on the rear of WIRIS SECURITY - only the side Micro USB port can be used for mass storage access. As the rear USB port is powered, connec on to another powered USB port can lead to permanent damage to either device.

    7.7 Power Supply The Workswell WIRIS SECURITY system can be powered through a +9 to +36 VDC connector on the back panel. The back panel DC connector is compa ble with a 5.5 mm/OD (outer diameter) and 2.5 mm/ID (inner diameter) plug, where the inner contact is +9 to +36 VDC and the shell is GND.

    Warning: The +5V wire on the S.BUS input is intended for powering otherwise unpowered transceivers and converters from WIRIS SECURITY. If your transciever or convertor is powered otherwise, do NOT con- nect the +5V wires and leave them unconnected instead, only connec ng the GND and S.BUS pins. If the +5V wires are connected, damage of either device might occur.

    The Workswell WIRIS SECURITY system is equipped with GPS interface through the unified interface cable with a 4 pin connector. As for the physical layer, the Workswell WIRIS system is designed for UART with opera ng voltage of 5 V, although it is tolerant to 3.3 V.

    11.1 Layouts WIRIS SECURITY implements several different Layouts - different arrangement of elements on screen. Each layout is best suited for a par cular situa on or a use case.     14.2 Mass Storage (USB OTG) WIRIS SECURITY can be connected directly to PC or Mac with Micro USB cable and act as a Mass Storage. Thus the data from connected memory can be accessed, copied, moved or deleted.

    Firmware Update Workswell WIRIS SECURITY system is supplied with the latest firmware. As me goes on, newer firmware could appear in order to bring the user new func ons, improve the old ones or fix bugs. For this purpose, the system allows the user to update the firmware.

  • Page 63 20.4 Reset to Factory Default You can reset the WIRIS SECURITY to its factory default state with the pin bu on. Press the pin bu on for more then 5 seconds. The LED should start blinking rapidly. Do not unplug the WIRIS SECURITY from power source during this process! Factory default can help in some situa ons.
