4. Fixing the air-termination masts

When installing the air-termination masts, the maximum free length of 8.5 m (measured from the top fixing
point to the tip of the tubular air-termination rod) must not be exceeded (see Fig. 1, page 5).
It must be ensured that the lower end is not located in a hazardous area when positioning the
air-termination masts.
Each air-termination mast must be fixed by means of three variable holders (adjustment area from 250 to
350 mm, Part No. 105 345) with a fixing length ≥ 1.5 m. For this purpose, the two upper holders must be
positioned at a distance of 300 to 500 mm from each other. The third holder is mounted at the lower end
of the air-termination mast (supporting tube) (see Fig. 1, page 5).
The connection to the equipotential bonding system is established via the double cleat (Part No. 105 345)
at the variable holder using a tightening torque of 25 Nm (see Fig. 1, page 5).
When fixing/mounting the variable holders, wedge anchors with a M10 thread must be used (e.g. MKT
wedge anchors BZ plus St/tZn type BZ- 10-10/90, alternatively wedge anchors BZ plus stainless steel A4
type BZ- 10-10/90 A4).
Observe the installation instructions for the fixing materials!

5. Conductor routing

The entire HVI Conductor/HVI power Conductor must be installed in the protected volume of the

air-termination system of the external lightning protection system.
Downstream of the point where the HVI Conductor/HVI power Conductor leaves the supporting tube

(except Ex zone), it must be fixed at intervals of ≤ 1m.
The fixing screws of metal conductor holders must be tightened with max. 5 Nm, the fixing screws of plastic
conductor holders with max. 2 Nm.
If the HVI Conductor/HVI power Conductor is installed in Ex zones 1 or 21 after it is led out of the

supporting tube, the specifications given in the installation instructions 1501 and 1892 are mandatory.
