    HARD WATER Where hard water conditions exist, water softening or the threshold type of water treatment is recommended. This will protect the dishwashers, coffee urns, water heaters, water piping and other equipment. See MAINTENANCE section for details of tank cleanout procedure.

    HEATER WIRING All electrical work must be installed in accordance with the latest version of the National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA No. 70, must conform to all local code authority having jurisdiction. ELECTRICAL GROUND IS REQUIRED TO REDUCE RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK OR POSSIBLE ELECTROCUTION. If any of the original wire as supplied with the appliance must be replaced, use only type 105 C thermoplastic or equivalent.

HOT WATER TEMPERATURES REQUIRED FOR AUTOMATIC DISHWASHER AND LAUNDRY USE CAN CAUSE SCALD BURNS RESULTING IN SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY AND/ OR DEATH.     When the heater is operating at full capacity, or full gas input, it should consume 1 cu. ft. of gas in time indicated on Table 9. VENTING SYSTEM Examine the venting system every six months for obstructions and/or deterioration of the vent piping. Remove all soot or other obstructions from chimney which will retard free draft.

    RECOMMENDED PROCEDURE FOR PERIODIC REMOVAL OF LIME DEPOSITS FROM TANK TYPE COMMERCIAL WATER HEATERS The amount of calcium carbonate (lime) released from water is in direct proportion to water temperature and usage, see chart. The higher the water temperature or water usage, the more lime deposits are dropped out of the water.
