The effeff security lock 809 requires panic fittings with split handle pin and handles fixed with
high quality bearings into the escutcheons.
The length of the pins depends on the thickness of the door leaf, the horizontal position of
the lock, the thickness of the escutcheon used and the required depth to engage the handle.
Please note that there is a difference between the inner and the outer part of the handle pin.
Normally, both parts are marked with impressed letters.
• The part of the handle pin provided with screw thread must be mounted on
the inside.
• The escutcheons and handles must be fixed without any free play or bending
stress onto the door leaf.
• Preparation of the door leaf, such as drilling, milling or mortising must be
carried out after the lock has been removed.
• Please observe the installation instructions of the manufacturer and if necessary
the public building regulations as well.
The special version of controlled handles of both sides
must have a non-splitted handle pin.
The length of the pin is calculated by
L = Lout + Lin + 2 mm.
