Dear Customer,
The effeff electric security lock 809 satisfies the highest security requirements. This
completeley new type of lock is produced by the most modern technical production methods
of high-quality materials and components. Its service life is usually much longer than the
guarantee period granted by effeff provided that some fundamental rules and regulations are
observed:
• Do not modify the lock in any way!
• The lock must be mounted in the correct position, i.e. vertically (bolt must
be extended horizontally)!
• Do not paint or varnish the lock faceplate or other parts of the lock! Re-
move the lock before painting!
• Do not use lubricants, grease or oil! The lock is lubricated for life!
• Avoid water and condensation penetrating the lock!
• Mounting and electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified
technician (mounting e.g. by joiner or a locksmith, electrical connection
by an electrician).
Failure to observe these instructions or our general terms of warranty will invalidate
the guarantee.
Please read the following instructions on the function and handling of the lock carefully. Only
if you understand how it operates and which possibilities it offers, you will be able to use it to
your satisfaction.
The electric security lock 809 in the version for tubular frames has been approved for
installation in fire rated doors:
With the exception of special types with controlled handles on both sides (through
square hole) the lock offers panic function for the direction of exit.
