    How Your Heart Pump Works 2 Your Heart Pump Your heart pump is called the HeartMate II Left Ventricular Assist Device ( Figure 2 It helps move blood through your body. A small motor inside the pump turns the rotor that moves the blood. The pump is placed below the heart. One end connects to the left ventricle (the heart’s main pumping chamber).
