    Intended Use This pump is designed to easily transfer water from one point to another using standard 115V household outlet power. Keep work area clean, dry, free of clutter, and well lit. Cluttered, wet, or dark work areas can result in injury.
  • Page 6 ELECTRICAL SAFETY • Grounded tools must be plugged into an outlet properly installed and grounded in accordance with all codes and ordinances. Never remove the grounding prong or modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs. Check with a qualified electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded.

    Specific Operation Warnings • Wear ANSI Z87.1 compliant goggles. • DO NOT start pump or run pump dry. Prime pump before each use. • Do not submerge pump in water. For indoor use only. • Pump clean water only. DO NOT use for salt water, brine, laundry discharge or any application that may contain foreign materials and/or caustic chemicals.

    Grounding • The pump must be grounded while in use to protect the operator from electrical shock. It is equipped with an electric cord that has an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug MUST be plugged into a matching receptacle that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with ALL local codes and ordinances.

    Extension Cords • An extension is NOT recommended for use with this product. If an extension cord is used, be sure to follow the requirements listed below. • USE A PROPER EXTENSION CORD. Make sure your extension cord is in good condition. When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry the current your product will draw.

    Assembly On first delivery, check that all parts are present. Compare the contents of the shipping carton with the packing list. If any parts are missing or damaged, contact customer service for replacement parts (see the Replacement Parts section in this manual for the phone number). No assembly of the pump is necessary except to connect the hoses to setup the system for pumping.

    Operating Instructions • Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating the pump. Do not use the pump while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while operating the pump may result in serious personal injury. •...
  • Page 12 2. Attach suction hose (C) by pushing the male threaded end into the rubber suction strainer (B); then, place the strainer in at least 1/2 in. of water at the lowest point to be pumped. NOTICE: Make sure the connection is airtight. An air leak can cause the pump to run dry Thread the other end of the suction hose (C) to the suction inlet of the pump (A).

    To operate, plug the pump (A) into a GFCI outlet. NOTICE: The pump can be very loud when plugged in. THIS IS NORMAL. Once water begins to pump, the noise will dissipate. When the water level has been reduced to approximately 1/8 in.

    Troubleshooting If the pump is not running properly, remove the impeller cover screws (#1), remove the impeller cover (#2), and inspect the O-ring (#3) and impeller (#4). If there is any damage to these parts, please contact 1-800-222-5381. Note: Do not disassemble the motor housing of the pump. This motor has NO repairable internal parts, and disassembling may cause a dangerous electrical wiring conditions.
