by hand in hot, soapy water;
rinse and dry thoroughly. Do
not immerse the Can Opener
in water or other liquids.
3. To replace the Cutting
Assembly (see C) line up
and insert the "key" spindle
into the "key" notch in the
Can Opener and press the
Pierce Lever down.
4. Wipe the Base and Cord with a damp cloth or sponge or a soapy,
mild, non-abrasive cleaner and follow with a clean, dry cloth.
CAN OPENING TIPS
1. Start the cutting action just beyond any bump or dent in a can. Cans
with heavy seams, odd shapes, or uneven rims may stall the Can
Opener. If this happens, turn the can slightly with one hand while
holding the Can Opener with the other.
2. Frozen juices should be opened as soon as they are removed from the
freezer.
3. Your Can Opener will not open rimless cans, such as evaporated milk,
or cans with odd corners, such as processed meats or sardine cans.
BATTERY REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL
This product uses rechargeable, recyclable nickel-cadmium batteries.
When the batteries can no longer be charged, they should be removed,
recycled, or disposed of properly. These batteries must not be incinerated
or composted. (See "Disposal"). Do not attempt to replace batteries with
batteries other than those supplied by the manufacturer.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THE PLASTIC COVERING FROM
THE BATTERIES.
Removal:
1. Remove the Cutting Assembly
from the unit. (See "Care and
Cleaning"). Use a small
Phillips screwdriver to remove
the screws on the unit and pry
the two halves apart. You will
see two barrel shaped batteries
and connections. If the batteries
have leaked or vented, put on
