CONDITION
Detergent dispenser does
not operate.
Water in tank during
drying cycle and at end
of complete operation.
Inadequate drain.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
1. Dispenser shaft "frozen" in housing.
2. Torsion spring disassembled or broken.
3. Timer malfunctioning.
4. Inoperative bimetal unit.
5. Bimetal unit not properly adjusted .
1. Clogged drain.
2. Drain pump malfunctioning.
3. Drain valve inoperative or clogged .
4. Program switch malfunctioning.
5. Timer inoperative or malfunctioning.
1. Installation deficiency (drain tubing too
small or too long).
2. Drain tubing kinked .
3. Disposer "knockout plug" not removed.
4. Drain air gap, external to dishwasher,
clogged or improper size (5/8" I.D. min.
required).
5. Program switch has been bumped after
program selected or switch malfunctioning.
6. Timer malfunctioning.
7. Damaged drain impeller.
REMEDY
1.1 Disassemble and clean shaft.

Replace dispenser assembly.

Replace timer.
4.1 Replace bimetal unit.
5.1 Adjust
bimetal unit.

Remove obstruction.

Replace damaged impeller.
3. 1 Remove obstruction or replace drain
valve.
4.1 Replace program switch.

Replace timer.
1.1 Check drain size 9/16" I.D. min.
2.1 Remove kinks.
3.1 Check for removal of plug (if disposer
installed).
4.1 Have air gap cleaned or corrected by
plumber (required on some installations;
not responsibility of dishwasher service
technician).
5.1 Check program switch cancelling lever and
correct or replace lever. Replace program
switch and/or educate customer to avoid
bumping switch.
6.1 Check timer for continuity ; replace if
necessary.

Replace drain impeller.
