Using the Noise Canceling Function

Adjusting the Noise Canceling effect

The player is designed to obtain the maximum effect of the Noise Canceling
function (  p. 93). However, you may be able to enhance the effect depending
on your ear shape or usage environment by increasing (or decreasing) the
sensitivity of the microphone installed in the headphones. You can adjust the
microphone sensitivity by setting the Noise Cancel level. Adjust the function
when the Noise Canceling effect is poor.
From the Home menu, select
Noise Cancel Level].
Press the / button to adjust the setting level, and then press the
 button to confirm.
 The setting can be adjusted in 31 steps. The center position of the
indicator will obtain the maximum effect under normal ambience. Move
the position of the indicator to adjust the desired value.
Hint
 You can also adjust the setting from the [NC Modes] screen, by selecting [Set Noise
Cancel Level] from the option menu.
Note
 This function is only effective when [Noise Canceling: On/Off] is set to [On].
 The default setting (center position of the indicator) will obtain the maximum effect
under normal ambience. The effect of the Noise Canceling function is not necessarily
enhanced by maximizing the microphone sensitivity.
