5.1 Service Modes
The Customer Service Mode (CSM) is used for communication
between the call centre and the customer, while the Factory
Mode offers several features for the service technician.
This chassis also offers the option of using ComPair, a
hardware interface between a computer and the TV chassis. It
offers the abilities of structured troubleshooting, error code
reading, and software version read-out for all chassis.
Minimum requirements for ComPair: a Pentium processor, a
Windows OS, and a CD-ROM drive (see also paragraph
"ComPair").
5.1.1 TV mode Switching
The iTV set can be switched between "iTV" and "normal TV"
mode (or vice versa) with the iTV setup remote RC2573/01.
To do this; press 024995 <M> (M=menu). Follow the message
shown on the screen.
5.1.2 Customer Service Mode (CSM)
Purpose
The Customer Service Mode shows error codes and
information on the TV's operation settings. The call centre can
instruct the customer (by telephone) to enter CSM in order to
identify the status of the set. This helps the call centre to
diagnose problems and failures in the TV set before making a
service call.
The CSM is a read-only mode; therefore, modifications are not
possible in this mode.
How to enter
To enter CSM, press the following key sequence on the remote
control transmitter: "123654" (do not allow the OSD display to
time out between entries while keying the sequence).
Upon entering the Customer Service Mode, the following
screen will appear:

2. Displays the production code.
3. Displays the software version in from the main processor
4. Displays the software version of the optional other
processor.
5. Code 1 displays the last 5 logged errors.
6. Code 2 displays the first 5 logged errors.
7. Displays the validiti of the HDMI HDCP key.
8. Displays the NVM version.
Error Codes
The error code buffer contains all defected errors since the last
time the buffer was erased. The buffer is written from left to
right, new errors are logged at the left side, and all other errors
shift one position to the right. When an error occurs, it is added
to the list of errors, provided the list is not full. When an error
occurs and the error buffer is full, then the new error is not
added, and the error buffer stays intact (history is maintained),
except when the error is a protection error. To prevent that an
occasional error stays in the list forever, the error is removed
from the list after more than 50 hours of operation. When
multiple errors occur (errors occurred within a short time span),
there is a high probability that there is some relation between
them.

How to exit
To exit CSM, use one of the following methods:
• Press the MENU, STATUS (or EXIT/INFO/[i+]), or POWER
button on the remote control transmitter.
• Press the POWER button on the television set.
5.1.3 Factory Mode
How to Enter
To enter the factory mode, use the following method:
• Press the Menu button on the standard remote control.
• Press the following key sequence on the remote control
transmitter: "062596" directly followed by the MENU
button (do not allow the OSD display to time out between
entries while keying the sequence).
• Then with the cursor down key scroll under the install line.
Now no the Panel description is highlighted. Then press
the cursor right button to enter.
After entering the Factory Mode, the following screen is visible,
with panel information at the bottom line in the menu.
