9.1
Introduction
This monitor uses a 1366 × 768 WXGA panel. It supports PC
analogue and DVI (HDMI port) digital inputs up to 1360 × 768
60 Hz mode, and Y/C and CVBS. Also YPbPr signal inputs
from SDTV to HDTV (480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i and 576i, 576p,
720p, 1080i) digital port for HDMI (480iW, 576iW, 480p, 576p,
480pW, 576pW, 720p 50/60 Hz, 1080i 50/60 Hz).
This F3 platform (development name) uses a Trident
SVP-PX66 Scaler IC, which has an embedded ADC for HDTV/
Analog D-sub input up to 108 MHz/10bit, a digital port for
CVBS and Y/C input, a TXT decoder, and a built-in dual 8/
10-bit LVDS transmitter. It uses Trident SVP-PX66 as scaler
engine, which has embedded Analog D-SUB, digital HDMI
receiver, scaling input signal to panel OSD mapping and simple
3D de-interlacer. The extra DDR is to accomplish video frame

rate conversion and to provide OSD and de-interlacer with
enough memory. The video processing and some audio
functions is done on the Scaler board.
The CPU (M30620SPGP) provides control signals such as
backlight control, RC (remote control), detect keypad input, IIC
I/O communication, TV tuning control, sound control, and
power control.
The embedded video decoder is used to execute all video
signals processing except for HDTV. The HDTV streams go
through an embedded ADC converter. 3D comb and 3D de-
interlacer are included in the Scaler. The Scaler can decode
CC, TXT, and V-chip data to display.
One audio decoder MSP34XXG is used for TV sound
processing, and output goes via the TPA3100D2PHPR D-class
amplifier on the Scaler board.
The iTV board (i-Board) is a buy-in product, so it is a black-box
for Service. When defective, replace the whole unit. It is for iTV
"level two" system usage. The iTV "level two" is the system for
a Hotel centre controller to control the monitor and take the
service for the customer. It is a two-way communication
between Hotel centre controller and customer. Beside that, the
most important point is that all of the monitor display and work
action is controlled by iTV. The iTV board can update SW
version or communicate with the centre controller by RS232
board (RS232 and RJ45 interface).
Smart Box is the interface for a PHILIPS Smart Card (NEXT
card, DVB-T card, etc.). It is an option item for the customer.
This Smart Box is controlled by the iTV board and sends the
signal from the Smart Card to the Scaler for display.
