To play VIDEO CDs/Super VIDEO CDs with
PBC (Playback Control) functions

Press TOP MENU to open the menu of
the VIDEO CD/Super VIDEO CD.

Select an item using the number buttons.

Follow the instructions in the menu.
Press N when "Press SELECT"
appears.
To play restricted DVDs (Parental Lock)
If you play a restricted DVD, the display for
entering your password appears on your TV
screen.
Enter your four-digit password using the
number buttons.
The recorder starts playback.

Operations
Selects one of the audio tracks recorded on the disc when pressed
repeatedly.
For DVD VIDEOs or digital TV programmes recorded on the HDD, selects
the language.
For DVD-RWs/DVD-Rs (VR mode) or analogue TV programmes recorded
on the HDD, selects the main or sub sound.
Selects a subtitle language when pressed repeatedly.
When a four-digit language code is displayed, see "Language Code List" on
page 93.
Replays the scene/briefly fast forwards the scene.
Goes to the beginning of the previous/current/next title/chapter/track.
Fast reverses/fast forwards the disc.
Search speed changes as follows:
Fast forward

When you press and hold the button, fast forward/fast reverse continues at
the selected speed until you release the button.

To resume normal playback, press N.

One-Touch Play (for HDMI connection
only)
Press N. With one touch of the N button,
the recorder and your TV automatically turn
on and the TV's input is switched to the
recorder. Playback starts automatically.

• When using the HDMI connection, there may be
a delay, before the playback picture appears on
the TV screen, and the beginning portion of the
playback picture may not be displayed.
• To use the One-Touch Play function, set
"Control for HDMI" to "On" (default) in the
"System 1" setup (page 72).
