Do you have a question about the Janus C4 Series and is the answer not in the manual?
Questions and answers
How would you add an existing door onto a new controller/blade? What information would you need? And is there any step-by-step instruction manual that maybe I could be emailed?
To add an existing door to a new Grosvenor Janus C4 Series controller or blade, follow these steps and provide the required information:
1. Access the Doors Menu: Select the doors option and press the "+" button to add a new door.
2. Basic Tab Settings:
- Sensor Type: Select the type of door contact (e.g., magnetic sensor).
- Description: Enter a description for the door.
- Relock Mode: Choose the relock mode if applicable.
- Unlock on Time Schedule: Set this only if the door should open/close on a schedule.
- Lock Type: Choose between EnergiseToLock (Fail Safe) or EnergiseToUnlock (Fail Secure).
- AUX Output: Select if you want to use the AUX output for the lock.
3. Addressing:
- Address: Define the door's address in the format: blade – bus – position on blade.
- Bus is 0 for Wiegand readers and 1 for OSDP readers.
4. Additional Inputs:
- Breakglass: Indicate if breakglass monitoring is used.
- Switch Type: Select the type of request-to-exit or door switch used.
This information is required to configure the door correctly on the new controller or blade.
