Adjusting Telescopic Steering

Column

Warning!
Do not adjust the steering
wheel while driving. The
telescopic adjustment must be
locked while driving. Adjusting
the steering wheel while
driving could cause the driver
to lose control of the vehicle.
Unlocking:
Move lever (1) down until it
engages in detent.
The indicator lamp comes on.
Adjusting:
To lengthen or shorten the
steering column, pull out or push
in steering wheel.
Locking:
Move lever (1) down and release.
The lever should return to its
upper position.
The indicator lamp goes out.
Important!
With the key in steering lock posi­
tion 2, an indicator lamp comes on
for approximately 30 seconds. It
should go out when the engine is
running.
If the indicator lamp does not go
out after approx. 30 seconds or
after starting the engine, the
adjustable steering column is not
locked properly.
