    1 Introduction About this Document All OEM piggyback Modules of Hilscher GmbH are called COM (Communication Modules). These Modules provide a universal and easy to use fieldbus interface for integration on various host sys- tems. Through the set of standard application interfaces and the same board dimensions in each COM family it is easy to switch between the different fieldbus systems, e.g.
