Introducing the Switch The HP ProCurve 3500, 3500yl and 6200yl switches are multiport switches that can be used to build high-performance switched networks. These switches are store-and-forward devices offering low latency for high-speed networking. The 3500 and 3500yl switches also support Redundant Power Supply and Power over Ethernet (PoE/PoE+) technologies.

Both ProCurve 10-GbE, SFP/SFP+ transceivers and ProCurve Mini-GBICs have links to a list of supported products (first question in the “General Product Information” category). The 1000Base-T mini-GBIC is supported on the 6200yl only.

HP ProCurve Web site, www.hp.com/go/procurve/manuals. The 3500 and 3500yl switches can be connected to an HP ProCurve 620 Redundant and External Power Supply (RPS/EPS) and receive redundant power from that unit. If the internal power supply in the switch fails, the RPS/ EPS unit will immediately provide all the power necessary to keep the switch running.
