MENU BAR OPTIONS

When the VC10 is loaded in Prepar3D or Flight Simulator X a new entry will appear in the 'Add-ons' menu called
Just Flight VC10 Professional.
This menu allows you to select panel states, toggle the ground equipment and air supply, and operate the
in-flight refuelling equipment.
Panel states
Two panel states can be selected from the menu:
Cold and Dark – engine and electrical power off, flaps up, parking brake on.
Ready for Takeoff – engine and electrical power on, flaps set for take-off.
Note: Panel states can only be changed whilst the aircraft is on the ground, to prevent inadvertent selection when
airborne.
Ground equipment
The ground equipment can be toggled on and off using the menu entry.
Ground air supply
The engines are rotated for starting by air-driven starter motors mounted on the engine right-hand wheel cases
and geared to the engine HP compressor shafts. The air supply for the starter motors is supplied from a ground
supply. This menu option allows you to connect the ground air supply to the aircraft. An on-screen message will
appear indicating whether the ground air supply has been connected or disconnected.
When at least one engine is started, the remaining engines can be started from it using cross-bleed.
In-flight refuelling
The military variants of the VC10 are equipped with in-flight refuelling equipment. The C1K, K3 and K4 variants all
feature wing-mounted refuelling pods, and the K3 and K4 also feature a centreline hose drum unit (HDU). These
hoses can be extended and retracted using the corresponding menu options.
