Operations

Selecting the Recording Format

Before recording, select the recording format.
Note
There are restrictions on the recording formats that can be
combined on a single disc.
(How to select an item in the menu screen: Turn the
MENU knob to move the b mark to the desired item.)

Display the FORMAT page of the USER (or
OPERATION) menu, and press the MENU knob.
For details of menu operations, see "Basic Menu
Operations" on page 129.

a) In HQ mode or LP mode, as a result of MPEG2 compression, the recording
time varies depending on the volume of the generated compressed image
data, with the above figures as a minimum. For example, in material with
little movement, the recording time may be significantly longer than
shown above.
Note about recording times
An average of 1 second (up to a maximum of 2 seconds) of
additional information is recorded whenever Clip
Continuous Rec recording starts. The recording times
listed above will be shorter if Clip Continuous Rec
recording is done repeatedly.

The recording and playback times listed above are
approximate. Maximum recording times may vary
depending on recording conditions.
