All clamps and connections between air clean­
er and intake manifold must be kept tight to pre­
vent unfiltered air from entering the engine.
If air cleaner becom es clogged, restricted air
flow will cause increased fuel consumption, power
lo ss, and possible engine damage. If air cleaner is

should be replaced at intervals specified later
under each type of filter. Element replacement
intervals are dependent upon cleanliness of the
fuel and storage facilities.
IMPORTANT: Neglect of filters can lead to
eventual damage to certain fuel components.

tervals as specified in LUBRICATION (SEC. 0) in
this manual or more frequently for extensive
operation under severe conditions.

experience, drain a small amount of fuel from
filter and observe for presence of water or other
foreign matter. Element should be replaced at 5,000
to 10,000 mile intervals.

drain the filter.
