Configuring the Maximum-Aging Time

Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to configure the maximum-aging time for all MST
instances. This procedure is optional.
Before You Begin
A multiple spanning tree (MST) must be specified and enabled on the switch. For instructions, see Related
Topics.

Configuring Multiple Spanning-Tree Protocol
Purpose
Enters the global configuration mode.
Configures the forward time for all MST instances. The forwarding
delay is the number of seconds a port waits before changing from
its spanning-tree learning and listening states to the forwarding
state.
For seconds, the range is 4 to 30; the default is 20.
Returns to privileged EXEC mode.
