or damage and replace, if necessary. Drain
and discard any remaining brake fluid.
2. Secure the master cylinder in a suit
able holding fixture, like a piece of steel plate
with holes drilled to accommodate the
mounting bolts and piston bore clamped in a
vise. Clamping the aluminum master cylin
der in a vise is not recommended and may
cause cracks or damage. -
3. Fully depress the master cylinder pis
tons with a suitable brass rod or wooden dowel
and remove the stop bolt. Remove the re
taining snap ring with suitable pliers.
NOTE: Never remove the stop bolt unless
both pistons are fully bottomed in the bore.
