  • Page 5 Scooter Overview Roadstar Deluxe This diagram illustrates the various parts of your mobility scooter. Please note that many of these parts are not us- er-serviceable and should be repaired only by trained professionals. This is especially true of the electrical systems and the mechanical components.

    Operation Congratulations on your new Roadstar Deluxe mobility scooter. To begin, you will need to take the keys that came with your scooter and insert them into your ignition. This is located on the main steering colum infront of you when you are sitting on the machine.

    Right Handlebar 1) Kill Switch - Press this button towards N to put the scooter in Neutral, push it towards start so that the motor will go. 2) Light Switch - The far left position will have no lights on. The middle position will have only the brake lights on.

    For more informaiton on what each button does see page 7 Speed Dial The Roadstar Deluxe also comes with a speed dial so if you are taking it inside a mall or somewhere with close quarters you can limit the speed drastically to make sure you never go to fast.
  • Page 9 Engaging Parking Brake Underneath throttle there will be a small bar with a black nub covering it. This is to engage the parking brake. To activate it, rst pull the rear brake caliper until it cannot go any further back. Next, push the black nub up towards the handlebar to engage the rear brake lock.
  • Page 10 The Roadstar Deluxe also comes with trunk stor- age. On the back of the machine lift insert your key into the key hole shown here. Turn the key and lift the seat straight up to access additional storage.

    Riding Instructions This guide assumes that you already know how to ride a standard mobility scooter. Before you try to ride an electric scooter, you should be very familiar with controlling a normal mobility scooter. Caution If you do not have experience operating a mobility scooter, turn down the speed and practice on a wide open area before embarking on a long trip.
  • Page 12 Inspecting your Mobility Scooter Always inspect your mobility scooter before you ride it, to make sure its safety features are operating prop- erly. Many accidents can be avoided with routine inspections. Once you are comfortable with your mobility scooter, you will be able to detect small changes in the way it feels. If anything changes between uses, make sure to have it properly examined.

    Stopping Your mobility scooter has two sets of brakes, at the front and at the rear. The levers attached to the handle- bars, on the left and right, activate the brakes. Pull the levers toward you to activate the brakes. You can use both brakes to come to a stop more quickly, or you can use one of the brakes to come to a gentle stop, depending on your riding needs at the moment.
  • Page 14 Riding in Wet Weather Your mobility scooter is designed to function in wet conditions, such as when it is raining. However, because the motor is on the rear wheel, it is easy to slip when moving at high speeds. If it is very wet, be sure to avoid high speeds.
