INSTALLATION

3.1

Safety Precautions

The following safety precautions m ust be observed during
installation and operation. Aeroflex assum es no liability for
failure to com ply with any safety precaution outlined in this
m anual.
3.1.A
Complying w ith Instructions
Installation/operating personnel should not attem pt to install
or operate the Test Set without reading and com plying with
instructions contained in this m anual. All procedures
contained in this m anual m ust be perform ed in exact
sequence and m anner described.
3.1.B
AC Pow er Requirements
The RGS-2000NG power supply operates over a voltage
range of 100 to 240 VAC at 60 to 50 Hz.
3.1.C

Ventilation

The RGS-2000NG is air-cooled by fans that draw air through
vents in the case. Do not onstruct the air vents while the
instrum ent is in use. Avoid standing the instrum ent on or
close to other equipm ent that is hot.

Grounding Pow er Cord
Use a 3-prong AC Power Cord to connect the Test Set to a
grounded AC Power Supply.
DO NOT USE A THREE-PRONG TO TW O-
PRONG ADAPTER PLUG. DOING SO
CREATES A SHOCK HAZARD BETW EEN
THE CHASSIS AND ELECTRICAL GROUND.
For AC operation, the AC Line Cable, connected to the
External DC Power Supply, is equipped with a standard
three-prong plug and m ust be connected to a properly
grounded three-prong receptacle.
It is the custom er's responsibility to:
Have a qualified electrician check receptacle(s) for
proper grounding.
Replace any standard two-prong receptacle(s) with
properly grounded three-prong receptacle(s).
3.1.E

Operating Safety

DUE TO POTENTIAL FOR ELECTRICAL
SHOCK W ITHIN THE TEST SET, THE CASE
ASSEM BLY M UST BE CLOSED W HEN THE
TEST SET IS CONNECTED TO AN
EXTERNAL POW ER SOURCE.
Extrem e care should be exercised when perform ing any
operations preceded by a CAUTION or W ARNING label.
CAUTION labels appear where possibility of dam age to
equipm ent exists and W ARNING labels denote conditions
where bodily injury or death m ay result.
