Important Safeguards

For your own safety, always follow these basic precautions when
using a Foodsaver appliance:

• Read the QuickStart Guide carefully for operating instructions.
• Do not use appliance on wet or hot surfaces, or near a heat source.
• Do not immerse any part of appliance, power cord or plug in water
or other liquid.
• To disconnect, unplug power cord from electrical outlet. Do not
disconnect by pulling on cord.
• Do not operate appliance with a damaged power cord or plug. Do
not operate appliance if it mal functions or is in any way damaged.
If cord or appliance is damaged, you can return it to an Authorized
Oster™ Service Center for repair.
• Use appliance only for its intended use.
• Closely supervise children when using any electrical appliance. Do
not allow appliance to be used as a toy.
• Always use the appliance on a stable, secure, dry and level surface.
• Never use this appliance for anything other than its intended use.
This appliance is for household use only. Do not use this appliance
outdoors.
• Never immerse any part of the appliance or power cord and plug in
water or any other liquid.
• Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped or if there are any
visible signs of damage.
• Ensure the appliance is switched off and unplugged from the supply
socket after use, before cleaning.
• To disconnect, unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. Do
not disconnect by pulling on the cord.
• Use only accessories or attachments recommended by the
manufacturer.
• Do not operate this appliance with a damaged cord or plug, after
the appliance malfunctions or if it is dropped or damaged in any
manner. Take the appliance to the nearest Oster® Authorized
Service Center for examination, repair or electrical or mechanical
adjustment.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised and have
been given instructions concerning the use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to
ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or
near children, or incapacitated individuals.
• This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an
external timer or separate remote-control system.
• This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar
applications such as: staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other
working environments farm houses by clients in hotels, motels
and other residential type environments bed and breakfast type
environments.
SHORT POWER SUPPLY CORD INSTRUCTIONS
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from
becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. An extension
cord may be used if care is exercised in its use. If an extension cord
is used, the electrical rating of the cord must be at least as great
as the electrical rating of the appliance. The extension cord should
be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop
where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

Important Tips

• When reheating foods in Foodsaver
them in water at a low simmering temperature below 75°C (170°F).
