What you can do with the PCM-D10 (continued)
For recording musical instrument performances with an external
microphone
ˎ You can connect an external microphone with the XLR or TRS jack(s) (commercially available) to
the XLR/TRS jack(s) on the linear PCM recorder (page 39).
ˎ You can connect a commercially-available external microphone that comes with a stereo mini-
plug to the MIC IN/LINE IN jack on the linear PCM recorder (page 38).
ˎ Long battery life with four LR6 (size AA) alkaline batteries. You can record for approximately
44 hours with the external microphone connected to the MIC IN/LINE IN jack (recording mode:
LPCM 44.1 kHz/16 bit); or for approximately 6 hours with the external microphone connected to
the XLR/TRS jack(s) (recording mode: LPCM 44.1 kHz/16 bit with phantom power supply).
ˎ You can monitor audio from the left and right channels independently during recording or
playback (page 34, 43).
