1.1.3 Additional Steps for MPC Replacement
If you are replacing an MPC, follow these steps after you complete the steps in the "Card
Installation" section on page 3. This procedure does not interrupt the flow of data.

PCMCIA card should contain the Cisco IOS software image and the current configuration file for
the system. The backup PCMCIA card should be moved from the old MPC to the new MPC before
the new MPC is installed in the chassis.

Cisco 6200 FRU Installation and Replacement
In addition to saving the configuration to the startup configuration, you may want to copy
it to a PCMCIA Flash memory card. The following command copies the startup
configuration to a file named "6200-config" on the PCMCIA card in slot 0.
c6200# copy startup-config slot0:6200-config
In this procedure, it is assumed that you have prepared a backup PCMCIA Flash card, as
