    1 GENERAL: Dear user, In purchasing this Saey insert stove you have chosen for a reputable stove. We wish you many happy hours of cosy heating! To get the best ecological performance and highest output from this appliance please follow these installation and operating instructions.

    3. FUEL: WOOD This stove burns wood only. The best results are obtained with dry wood. Logs sawn to size, cleaved and stored in a well-ventilated place (at least 1 year, preferably 2), give the best results because: they produce considerably more heat than damp or green wood they produce much less smoke than damp or green wood they deposit less soot on the sides of the stove, the flue and window than damp or green wood...

    Under no circumstances should you allow air to come in from rooms or cellars containing volatile or inflammable substances. Saey insert stoves can only be used when the door of the insert stove is closed. For the air consumption of your particular insert stove see the table in point 2.

    All local regulations, including national and European standards, must be followed when installing the appliance. Only an appliance connected by an accredited installer guarantees compliance with the architectural and fire prevention regulations. These rules must be followed to ensure the correct and safe operation of the stove.

Pull the catch towards you to open the door and push it away from you to close it.

    8. COMBUSTION PRINCIPLE This stove was developed for semi-slow burning. Loaded fully with wood and operating on a slow burn the stove will burn through the night with sufficient embers left over the next day to relight the fire. It is also possible to set the stove to a very slow burn (no flames). We do not recommend this for the following reasons: a) it causes insufficient burning which pollutes the air extremely heavily and unnecessarily b) this inadequate burning gives rise to extra smoke which deposits tar on the sides of the...
  • Page 10 SETTINGS Combustion air regulator (C) This controls the amount of air needed for combustion and therefore the heat produced. It is located on the top right-hand side of the door (see figs 1 and 2). Open: slide to the right Close: slide to the left The greater the supply, the more air is allowed into the stove, the more heat the stove produces, and the more wood is consumed.

    RELOADING Open the air inlet fully (C) Open the door carefully. Use the poker to spread the glowing logs over the bottom. Place new logs on the embers. Close the door and allow the fire to resume. Select a setting. PLEASE NOTE! It is recommendable to load no higher than the vermiculite walls, or to load no more wood than the normal quantity given in table 2.

    It is recommended to clean the stove when it is cold. WINDOW In most cases the window "Air wash" system and the vermiculite covering on the walls help keep the window clean for longer. However, if the window becomes dirty, you should: open the door use a spray or cleaning gel on the inside of the window.
  • Page 13 CLEANING THE FLUE The flue must be swept every year. To do this the smoke damper must be removed from the appliance. To remove the smoke damper follow the instructions below with care. How to remove the smoke damper 1) After opening the door you can remove baffle plate D. To do this, place your hand on catch C and push the back of the catch upwards.
  • Page 15 BROKEN WINDOW The pyroceramic window is solidly made and will not crack through heat. However, it can be broken through a lack of care. Read and apply the tips below to avoid damage. 1. Never allow logs to protrude from the front or the front log will break the window. 2.
