Frequency coverage above 50 GHz is available using the Agilent 83550
series millimeter-wave source modules. Source modules are available in R
(26.5 to 40 GHz), Q (33 to 50 GHz), U (40 to 60 GHz), V (50 to 75 GHz) and
W (75 to 110 GHz) bands. Refer to "Millimeter-wave configuration," under
"Optional Capabilities."
Transmit site RF cabling
The transmit site RF cabling will depend on the
Output
transmit amplifier and the method used to obtain
Power (dBm)
the reference channel signal. The amplifier should
be positioned as closely as possible to the transmit

antenna to preserve maximum output power at the

frequency range, gain and maximum output power
of the transmit amplifier, as well as the length in
meters of cables A2 and A3. For example, the fre-

quency range of the Agilent 8349B microwave
amplifier is 2 to 20 GHz with 14 dB of gain and

required frequency range, record the nominal gain
of each antenna.
<20 GHz, +13 dBm

Reference channel signals
Almost all outdoor ranges and some long indoor
ranges obtain the reference channel signal using a
<26.5 GHz, +10 dBm
stationary reference antenna to receive a portion
(26.5 to 40 GHz, +6 dBm)
of the radiated transmit signal. Shorter indoor
ranges can often use a coupled reference signal to
route the reference channel signal to the receiver
using coaxial cable or waveguide.
<26.5 GHz, +10 dBm
26.5 to 40 GHz, +5 dBm
If a radiated reference will be used, skip to
