When a device connects to a 4G LTE network, it is typically assigned one IP address it can use. Any traffic
that it needs to send or receive must come through this IP address.
When we need to connect multiple devices to the same IP address, we will often solve the problem using
Network Address Translation (NAT), also referred to as port forwarding. For most applications, this is the preferred
solution.
Sometimes, however, an application will require exclusive control of the IP Address and will not accept port
forwarding as a solution. This is most often this case when the protocol being used is not-routable or does not comply
with the TCP/IP Standards.
This guide will explain how to configure the eSAM to provide it's IP address directly to the connected device.
This will disable most of the functionality within the eSAM and turn it into a simple IP modem.
