Intended Use

This appliance is designed for homeowner outdoor string
trimming applications. This is not an edger and is not
intended to be used for edging.
DO nOT use under wet conditions or in presence of
flammable liquids or gases.
DO nOT let children come into contact with the tool.
Supervision is required when inexperienced operators use
this tool.

ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS


WARNING:
serious personal injury, turn unit off and remove
the battery pack before making any adjustments
or removing/installing attachments or
accessories. An accidental start-up can cause injury.

WARNING:
THE TRIMMER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO ATTACH THE
GUARD, EDGE GUIDE OR HANDLE. NEVER OPERATE
TOOL WITHOUT GUARD FIRMLY IN PLACE. THE
GUARD MUST ALWAYS BE ON THE TOOL TO PROTECT
THE USER.
Attaching the Guard (Fig. B, C)

WARNING:
WITHOUT GUARD FIRMLY IN PLACE. THE GUARD
MUST ALWAYS BE PROPERLY ATTACHED ON THE
APPLIANCE TO PROTECT THE USER.
Turn the trimmer upside down so that you are looking
down at the spool housing
Remove the screw from the guard with a
Phillips screwdriver.
Turn the guard

upside down and slide it fully onto
the motor housing

the guard engage the ribs
as shown in Fig. B. The locking tab
snapped into the housing slot
Continue to slide the guard on until you hear it "snap"
into place.
Insert the guard screw and tighten securely as shown in
Fig. C to complete the guard assembly.
Once the guard is installed, remove the covering from
the line cut-off blade, located on the edge of the guard.

Releasing the cutting line
For shipping purposes, the cutting line is taped to the
spool housing.
Remove the tape holding the cutting line to the
spool housing.
See Replacing the Spool for instructions for removing
the spool
Installing and Removing Attachments
