Remove 4 x mounting screws, use cordless drill & 1/4” drive bit if available. Two of these screws will be needed later on. Remove OE assembly including cable (no longer needed). Detach OE wheel (no longer needed), use pliers or small blade screwdriver. Remove the OE enclosure, observe correct orientation of the enclosure for re-assembly.

Use the provided M4 hex head taptite to drive in and out of the hole shown below, to form a thread. Use a Phillips head style screwdriver. APE cable entry Left hand enclosure Right hand enclosure Reinstall the enclosure, observe orientation as before. Insert two of the original screws as shown to assist enclosure mounting.

Install the APE unit, using the M4 screws, spacers and fibre washers provided. The two longer M4 screws go through into the gearbox and the single shorter screw only goes into the plastic housing. Short screw Long screw The bottom of the APE assembly must be held in position (as shown above) while fastening all three M4 screws. This will provide a neat mesh between the shaft drive gear and small APE gear (shown below).

If an EB (Expansion Board) is fitted the battery on the EB must be removed. It is recommended that pliers be used, as shown below.
