4.8 BASIC OPERATIONS OF SERVICE MENU

4.8.1 SERVICE MENU ITEMS

The service menu is roughly classified according to setup and adjustments, and is divided into the following items. Do not
alter the values of unnecessary items.
SIGNAL BLOCK

DEFLECTION BLOCK
CPU BLOCK
DIAGNOSIS
UPC1884 ADJ.
TA1276 ADJ.
HOUR METER
UPDATE CPU PROGRAM

4.8.2 BASIC OPERATIONS IN THE SERVICE MENU

1. Entering the Service Menu

Use the front panel keys to display the Service Menu (Fig. 1).
(1) While holding the
The " " mark appears at the center of the screen (Fig. 2).
(2) Before the " " mark disappears (within 5 seconds after it
appears), hold the
Warning message "Please don't touch!" appears on the
screen (Fig. 3).
(3) Before the warning message disappears (within 5 seconds
after it appears), press the VOL+ (
The service menu items appears on the display (Fig. 4).
Adjustments of the contrast, brightness, chroma and phase.
Adjustments of the white balance.
Adjustments of the deflection circuitry.
Setting of the entire system by means of the control values of the microcomputer. (This block is
usually not adjusted in servicing. Do not touch it except for adjustment items CC41 and CE05 to
CE24.)
Display of the results of self diagnosis.
Display of the status of UPC1884 which is the DEF processor IC. (Do not adjust this item because
it is not required for servicing.)
Display of the status of TA1276 which is the RGB processor IC. (Do not adjust this item because it
is not required for servicing.)
Display of the hour meter count.
Display of the software version.
Display of the E2PROM version. (Do not adjust this item because it is not required for servicing.)
Display of the HDSDI FPGA version. (Do not adjust this item because it is not required for servicing.)
Initialization of the user-setting menu. (Do not adjust this item because it is not required for servicing.)
